-TCH or -CH Practice Page
$0.00
Description
Hello Science of Reading friend!
Thank you for checking out this resource. One tricky spelling pattern for students is knowing when to use -TCH vs. -CH at the end of a word. This practice page helps students build confidence by identifying the letter that comes before the /ch/ sound—a key spelling skill!
✨ How it works:
✔ If the /ch/ sound follows a short vowel, we spell it with -TCH.
✔ If the /ch/ sound follows a consonant or a vowel team, we spell it with -CH.
✔ Students will read each word, circle the correct spelling, and highlight the letter(s) before -TCH or -CH to reinforce the rule.
This engaging, no-prep activity is perfect for phonics lessons, small group instruction, or independent practice.
