Hello Science of Reading friend!

I created this resource to help teach foundational reading skills to older students. Using real pictures and challenges, students will work on these skills without feeling like they are doing something meant for younger students.

How to play:

-Show the first slide with 2 different pictures

-Have students choose a side (it does not matter which side they choose, this is just to provide choice)

-When you say go, students have 30 seconds to write down as many words as they can think of that start with the same sound as the picture they chose.

For example: if a student chooses bird, they would write down as many words as possible that start with the /b/ sound.

– You can switch this up to use ending sounds, middle sounds, syllables, etc

So many possibilities!

This set includes 25 slides (50 pictures)!
