Are you looking for a way to incorporate skills supported by reading research into your center activities? This is the resource for you!

In order to become efficient readers and spellers, students must be able to hear the sounds in a word, segment those sounds, and blend them. This center covers all of those skills in one easy to set up activity!

I created these spinners to be used with my mapping mats as a literacy center, but you can use this however you see fit!

Centers:

This pack has a focus on DIPHTHONGS & Complex Vowel Teams.

I suggest putting out the spinners as you teach the skill. Once all the digraphs have been taught, you can include all spinners in the center, so children have a variety to choose from. You should include a mapping mat and manipulative for children to segment the sounds and then spell each sound.

Small Groups:

You can also use this resource for small group time so you can guide students in their segmenting, blending, and spelling.

What is Included:

This pack includes words 16 spinners with OI, OY, OW, OU, AW, AU, Short OO, and Long OO words.
