Hello Science of Reading friend!

Thank you for checking out this resource. This activity helps students practice decoding and spelling words where Y says /i/ or /e/.

How it works:
✔ Students spin, say the word, segment the sounds, and spell each sound
✔ Words include Y as /i/ and Y as /e/
✔ Works well with mapping mats (not included)

I created these spinners to use with my mapping mats as a literacy center, but you can use them however works best for your students. Some words may include patterns that haven’t been taught yet—consider mapping those together first before using independently.

This low-prep resource is great for centers, small groups, or extra decoding practice.
